The Parker Street Grammar School was organized in June, 1853.
The
building had been completed in that year at a cost of about $13,000
but had since been altered and enlarged.
The first two principals were
Ebetiezer Hervey and in 1864 Charles E. E. Mosher took over.
The school was later (In the latter half of the 20th century) demolished and was replaced by the new John Avery Parker School with an address on County street. Click the picture to enlarge it.
