Allen's Theatre on 1514 Acushnet Avenue offered vaudeville acts, silent pictures and illustrated songs
(similar to karaoke) and weekly serial showing cowboy - western movies.
Below is a 1919 photo.
It was one of several theatres in the city that were operated by George W. Allen, Jr.
The theater had 628 seats.
The theater suffered a bombing in 1933 and later in 1940 a fire destroyed it as well as adjoining businesses.
